Sonic Anatomy: Savior Interlude
Background
An interlude before one of the more defining songs of Kendrick Lamars' 'Mr Morale & The Big Steppers' in Savior. The Baby Keem centric track follows Kendrick speaking on Keem in how he has been following other black men in living lavishly following an abundant amount of success.
Philosophy
The track starts with a quote from German spiritual teacher, Eckhart Tolle. Tolle speaks on how once oneself has lived through or experienced a traumatic event. People will then create that traumatic event as the entire basis of their personality. Tolle refers to this as the 'pain-body' concept. This is caused by repressing these traumatic events that spiritually leaves that negative energy in your body that will feed on more hurt.
the song itself
Keem in his verse, shows his own 'Pain-body'. Speaking on if people have truly experienced the struggles and understand the pain he dealt with as an adolescent. He then shows more of what Kendrick spoke on in 'United in Grief' in using superficial items to cover the pain that people have dealt with earlier in life. That idea is then explored further on ' Mother I Sober' by Kendrick dealing with his own traumatic events
